Wisdom Through Change
I Ching Predictions & Personal Exploration
Finding stability in a changing world.
Some months it feels like the whole world is pressing in or rushing by too quickly.
You wake up restless at 2am and can’t say why.
Everyone at work gets short-tempered in the same week.
You’re pushing as hard as you can, and nothing seems to move.
The news shifts by the hour, and the ground under your feet doesn’t feel as solid as it used to.
Or a door you’ve been pushing on for years swings open, and you stand at the threshold excited to enter.
Not all of that is yours.
Some of it is the collective energy moving through and around all of us, and some of it are areas of your life asking for attention. When you can start to tell the collective energy from your energy, something in you opens, softening.
You stop trying to carry the whole world on your shoulders, because you are now choosing how you meet it.
That’s how these books help you.
Every year I sit with the I Ching, the ancient Book of Changes I’ve been consulting since middle school, and read the energy for each month of the year ahead.
Then, I write it down in a way you can actually live with, with questions to ponder and room to write your answers right there on the page. Part prediction book and part journal, it becomes a record of your own year, season by season.
There are seasonal celebrations to enjoy and stories from my own life too, including plenty of moments when change did not go gracefully for me. Some of them are pretty funny. (Some of them took a while to become funny.)
This book will not tell you what will happen or how to live. You know your life better than anyone. Instead, the I Ching Predictions presents the collective energy, asks great reflective questions, and keeps you company while you discover all the delights this year has in store for you.
Welcome to Wisdom Through Change.
about the Dragon
In the I Ching (Book of Changes), the energy of creation appears as a dragon. The dragon moves between heaven and earth, a force for good and a symbol of creativity, which is why one has graced every cover in this collection. Each year she rests against changing colors representing the element of the year ahead, green for 2025 (wood snake), fuchsia for 2026 (fire horse), and warm orange for 2027 (fire goat/sheep).
The red seal on each cover reads 明月, Ming Yue, my Chinese name. It means “bright moon,” and it’s been with me since my first visit to China.
May dragon energy, the power of creation support your exploration!
A Companion for the Whole Year
You know that wonderful feeling after a retreat, or a long weekend away, when your shoulders finally drop and you sleep like a baby? And then, a few days back into the to-do list, it’s gone.
The good feeling fades because the practice ends when the retreat does. This book is built to keep the practice going. It lives on your nightstand or in your bag, and a few minutes with it before bed, pen in hand, is enough to come back to yourself. When the month shifts, you’ll have a sense of what’s coming. When something feels off, you can flip back and see whether it’s the collective energy stirring the pot or something of your own that needs a little love.
What’s Inside
The shape of the year.
The book opens with what the I Ching is, how to use these pages, and the big energetic arc of 2027, so you can see the nature of the whole year. This overview is followed by a month by month deep dive with clear indicators of what it feels like when the energy is changing.
Month by month.
Each month begins with a summary of the collective energy, then details the related hexagrams. Every hexagram has six movements of energy, and I walk you through each one, what it might be teaching, how its energy might show up in your days as emotions or activities, and a reflection question just for that movement, with space beneath it to write. Along the way I’ll tell you how you’ll know the energy is changing, whether that shows up as a lift in your mood, a flash of frustration, or that funny feeling of not quite knowing where you stand.
The Wheel of the Year.
Eight seasonal turning points weave through the book, from Imbolc in early February through Beltane, the solstices and equinoxes, Lughnasadh, Samhain to take you around the Wheel of the Year. Each one comes with a short explanation, a reflection question, and sometimes a small practice to mark the day. You feel the seasons in your body through these observations as the I Ching shows you the movements of collective change.
A journal for your year.
Every reflection question has space beneath it for your thoughts because your first response is often the most on point and meaningful. As you move through the year energy will repeat itself and you'll want to flip back and forth to see your progress with the teachings of each month.
Stories and laugh-out-Loud Moments.
I’ve wrestled with the same energies myself and had a wonderful life of dramatic events, stubborn moments, and surprising magic that might just have you laughing.

Your Monthly Companion on Substack
The book holds the whole year. Substack walks through it with you one month at a time.
Each month on the Sanctum with Eve Substack you’ll find A Sprinkle of I Ching, a short summary of the month’s energy to remind you where we are, along with energy healing you can receive from home, channeled healing and messages, and guided meditations to help you settle into whatever the month brings.
Many readers keep the book open beside them while they listen.
And when your body is holding more stress than a book or a meditation can help with, Reiki and Bengston Energy Healing sessions are here for that too, in person in Decatur or distant from your hotel room, when you can’t leave the house, or wherever you are.

About Eve
I first went to China at nineteen and ended up living and working across Asia for years, including Macau and then, Hong Kong, where I trained as a Reiki Master Teacher. The I Ching has been part of my life even longer than that.
These days I’m a Reiki master, Bengston Energy Healing practitioner, and sound healer at Sanctum with Eve in Decatur, Georgia, and once a year I disappear into the hexagrams to write the next book.
I’m still gratefully learning from change every single day. These books are me sharing what I’m finding along the way, the wisdom and the wipeouts.
When you work in true alignment, even the sky is not a limit!
With love and light,
Eve Smyth
